We recently hired Colby as our general contractor for two full bathroom remodels, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From start to finish, Colby was professional, organized, and extremely knowledgeable. The one bathroom required plumbing to be reworked so he could install a beautiful tile shower. In the second bathroom he removed the old tub in order to install a new deep soaker tub with tile wall. He handled a flawless vanity install for both bathrooms and installed all fixtures.
One of the things we appreciated most was his clear communication throughout the entire project. He kept us informed every step of the way and was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Colby also offered a great recommendation on a tile store, which helped us find the perfect materials for our space.
As a licensed general contractor with proper insurance and workmen’s compensation coverage, we felt confident knowing everything was done safely and up to code. I think Colby was the eighth professional I engaged to fix a very annoying problem in our historic house - installing two vents at either end of an attic opening destroyed by squirrels. The holes had been fixed but no vents installed, which is a fiddly project accomplished at the top of a long ladder. Without the vents, rain damage is almost inevitable, and it had taken me an entire year of speaking to carpenters, roofers and others, some of whom agreed to the task but never did it. Fortunately no rain had come in during the year it took to find him after the exterior damage was fixed by the squirrelists. Colby figured out a way to do this from the inside (which required hoisting himself and tools up a ladder and through a very small hole in the upstairs ceiling) and did exactly what he said he would do exactly when he said he would do it. He's such an engaging person that he's also a pleasure to have around. Since it was a novel solution, he guaranteed the work, promised to return in a year to check it and fix it if necessary.
